The Westlodge Hotel & Pondlodge Cottages are situated on the edge of the beautiful town of Bantry in the heart of West Cork. The hotel is located on an elevated site, set within 30 acres of landscaped gardens with wooded walks and the pond, which is home to many wildlife species. This hotel was also awarded the Mark of Best Practise Award by Failte Ireland in 2005, one of just 7 hotels in Ireland to achieve this prestigious award.

The health and leisure centre features indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. On site, the hotel offers you outdoor tennis courts, pitch and putt and squash courts, and they have also introduced a selection of therapeutic and aromatherapy massages to make your stay even more relaxing. The extensive children’s facilities offer a range of activities for all ages to include children’s bubble pool, toddlers’ pool, outdoor playground, indoor play room and games rooms.

During June, July and August, the Mighty Ducks Club will entertain children from 5-12 years, while younger guests are supervised in the toddlers’ play room, free of charge, whilst parents can relax and enjoy all the hotel has to offer. The Westlodge Hotel & Leisure Centre is the ideal base for touring West Cork and Kerry, with the Ring of Kerry just a short drive from the hotel. There are numerous tourist attractions close to the hotel, Bantry House & Gardens, Sheep’s Head Walking or Cycling Trail and Bantry Golf Club to name just a few, and many other wonderful tours within easy reach. You can wander about the delightful town of Bantry and enjoy the market in the town centre every Friday, selling local produce, crafts, plants, clothes and more. The hotel aims to be the leading establishment in the hospitality industry when it comes to offering organised family holidays with a traditional Irish welcome.

Food and beverages

Sugarloaf Restaurant creates the perfect atmosphere, with magnificent views of Bantry, serving only local produce and fresh fish caught daily by local fisherman from Bantry Bay. The restaurant is committed to the Feile Bia Charter and uses products from recognised Quality Assurance Schemes as indicated on their menus. The hotel is pleased to be part of the Fuchsia Brand Initiative, which is long associated with West Cork and was chosen as a symbol of origin and quality. The restaurant does not serve any food that has been genetically engineered.

During summer months, you can enjoy nightly entertainment in the hotel bar.

Tourists information

By Car:
- From Cork, follow signs for Kinsale (N27) at Kinsale Road Roundabout.
- Follow signs for Killarney/WestCork (N25) at Sarsfield Road Roundabout.
- Take the 2nd exit (N25) at Bandon Road Roundabout and take the 1st exit (N71) straight through to the next small roundabout.
- Follow the N71 to Bandon, passing through Innishannon.
- At Bandon, turn right at the T-junction, following signs for Bantry/Dunmanway R586, passing through Enniskean/Ballineen and Dunmanway.
- Follow signs for Bantry, continuing on the R586.
- Passing through Drimoleague at junction N71, turn right and follow the road to Bantry.

- From Killarney, follow signs for Kenmare, N71.
- At Moll's Gap, turn left (signposted Kenmare) and follow signs for Glengarriff N71.
- Follow signs to Bantry (N71) at Ballylickey Bridge.
- Turn right and proceed straight through to Bantry.

- From Macroom (N22), you will see signs for Bantry.
- Turn right (R584), at Toon Bridge, bear left, cross the river bridge and bear right through Inchigeelah, Ballingeary and Keimaneigh.
- At Ballylickey Bridge, turn left onto the N71, straight through to Bantry.

Child supplement varies in July - August and it needs to be confirmed by the hotel.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years are charged EUR 6.00 per night and person when using existing bedding.
All children from 3 to 12 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding.
Maximum capacity of total guests in a room is 4.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.

City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs EUR 3.00 per 30 minutes.
